Ive added tes.dems4d.com and ale.dems4d.com which are the tesseract and alexandrite front ends respectively.

Tes works fine and should have comments sorted by new by default

Ale is a bit spotty rn. It will load but it take a while and a few refreshes but then once it gets all the assets sorted it works find from then on. Still figuring out what the issue is there. Alexandrite doesn't allow for site wide default sorting but going to you settings should allow for setting comments to sort by new by default.

Im also working on getting photon running at pho.dems4d.com but its giving problems so dont have a eta on that yet

Took down old.dems4d.com for the time being. It looks like that frontend is very out of date. I made a fork of the standard ui and made it be able to sort comments by new. Just working out some kinks with the docker image and it should be good to go.

I've added old.dems4d.com for the boomers amongst you. Its basically the old reddit layout. The comments will auto sort by new. Still working on bringing that functionality to the normal ui

Its on my list. There's no way to change the default built in so I just need to take some time to dig into the code and manually set the default somewhere

Yeah it basically took my like 10 minutes to just get like a quarter mile across the river before I saw the paths weren't getting better and I turned back. They usually do a good job of keeping it clear but it really overwhelmed them this time I guess

Theoretically if the instance is kept unfederated we could just muck about with the source code to do whatever we want like forcing sort by New etc and it shouldn't cause any problems
